- Before replacing perform the "01 - mechanical engine, functions"
listed adaptation using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
- Removing and installing. Refer to

Removing
Note
If the engine control module is replaced, perform the Guided
Functions "01 - Control module, replacing" using the Vehicle
Diagnostic Tester.
- Open the retainers in the direction of
-arrows- and remove the Engine Control Module -J623--2-.
- Disconnect the connectors -1-.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:
- If the Engine Control Module -J623- is replaced, perform the
"01 - mechanical engine, functions" listed adaptation using the
Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

Caution
There is a risk of damaging the threads in the
vehicle body.
The bolts and nuts at all suspension parts must not
be loosened or tightened with an impact wrench.
Always install the bolts and nuts by hand for the
first few turns.
When installing waxed components, contact surf

Replace after removing
Clean the threaded hole, for example, using a thread tap, before
installing the new bolt.
Install the bolt first by hand in the first threads. Check if the
steering intermediate shaft is seated correctly by pulling. Then tighten
